DRAGON LADY pin up
May nagtanong sa akin, bakit daw ang hilig-hilig ko sa kulay brown. Karamihan kasi ng artwork ko na nakikita niya sa blog na ito, pati sa Deviant Art ko ay laging dominated ng kulay brown.
Sabi ko, hindi ko rin alam. Unconsciously, baka mahilig talaga ako sa earth colors. Para ring si Hannibal. Ayoko kasi ng 'eye candy', o 'yung parang rainbow sa dami ng kulay na ginamit.
At siguro, kapag brown, para tayong bumabalik sa nakaraan. Napaghahalata sa mahilig ako sa classics. Ewan ko, may lalim sa akin ang kulay brown. Hindi ko alam kung bakit. Meron ba sa inyo na marunong magbasa ng personality ng tao sa pamamagitan ng colors?

Because Brown colors can often portray realistic effect...Usual na gamit ng painters are "chrome" to depict realistic touch.Artists which paints do not usually aware that most of their works contains "brownish colors".Take a look at the works of the Renaiisance period na mga artists..brown or chrome can clearly be seen on their works. Eyecandies are usually used by Cartoonists and in Animation. Brown and green are "earthly colors" which can be easily and can be psychologically associated to "real".When combining this colors and use it as a shade (especially in oil paints), you can create a realistic illusion and depth into your painting. If you were exposed to the "Traditional Method" and "basic rendering" , then subconciously your used of brown can not be easily be avoided.I remember my professor in painting when he said, "In painting,experiment, used chrome or brown as your base and in coloring, never use eyecandy and basic colors because this is not all about cartooning or graphics ...AND that is If you wanted to pass in this subject."

I think i'm on the right track...for painting. I don't know if this is applicable in comics. Majority of comicbook prints are eye candy. Kaya siguro i suck as a colorist, hindi ako puwedeng magkulay ng gawa ng iba. Because may sarili akong 'philosophy' ng pagkulay.

Alam mo ba my favorite color is brown,most of my top are brown...or gray..ewan ko ba, gusto ko sila.
