Mukang gagawin ng publisher ng webkomiks na for advertising purposes ito at vehicle na lang talaga ang comics. Dismayado naman dahil mahina naman ang komiks ngaun.

Hindi ko maintindihan. Can someone please explain? Papaano kumikita ang FREE webkomiks na 'yan?

For the past months, wala akong nakikitang mga substantially paying ads sa website nila.

Tapos, inatake (daw) ng mga hackers kamakailan at nawala ang site. Tapos heto, bumalik na. Totoo kaya ito, o imbento lang just to get attention? Even their write-ups sound and read fake. Sorry to say that.

Randy, can you or anybody give info on who are the people behind this website and what possessed them to produce such a body of work for FREE, and what their intended payoff is for their effort? Kailan ba ang payback nito at ANO ang payback na ini-expect nila?

Salamat.

I know the person behind webkomiks.com. He is a very good friend of mine. All I can say is that he is spending huge somes of money out of his own pocket in order to give us webkomiks.com. If you visit the site, you will sometimes read the staff saying they are preparing downloadable komiks to sell for a minimal fee. So they are actually building their name to eventually become an online store for komiks.

As to your question of what are their purpose, is it not obvious yet? they are trying to revive a dead industry by taking it to the next level. Actually, in my opinion, the motive of the owner is very noble. He is taking a great financial risk by trying something new just to help a dead industry dear to him (did you know he was once a komiks writer?).

Also, I assure you that the news that they were hacked was true. If you just searched in Google keywords like "webkomiks.com" and "defaced", you will even find a snapshot of the defacement site in a tracker website.

The last I checked their site (I'm an avid fan so I visit daily) I saw them putting up ads. I'm always compelled to click a few ads. Even though those few clicks of mine generate only cents, I know it would help them keep the site going. So if I were you, I'd be doing the same. Click some ads and help a good cause.
