LETTER FROM MANGO
Salamat kay Guia Yonzon sa pagbibigay ng panahon para malaman ng lahat ang kanilang side. Narito ang kanyang sulat na ipinost niya sa isang entry.
Reply re: Caparas
Walang away ang Mango kay Caparas. YES Inc., owner of the brand Mango Comics, was contracted by Sterling to develop into komiks form the franchises Joe D'™Mango™s Love Notes and Maalaala Mo Kaya of ABS CBN. YES Inc., much less Mango Comics, has no stake in these two titles.
Sterling later decided to get another contractor to produce subsequent issues of the two titles after the first ten issues (5 Love Notes and 5 Maalaala Mo Kaya) were done. It was a purely business decision on their part and YES Inc. has no quarrel with that.
However, there was a text barrage sent to artists and writers doing
work for YES Inc., to wit: Yons(sic)on'™s publications ceased to exist as of tonight. So with their business with writers and illustrators, sending the persons who received it into a panic. Because, truth to tell, YES Inc. gives them a good rate for their work: P1,000/inked page at a rate that has been given by the company from way back when it did Darna and Lastikman. We do not know how much the new contractor will be paying.
YES Inc. is rooting for the success of the two titles as well as of Caparas™ comics. In its view, the success of these projects will mean opening of channels for the rest of the creative people in the industry.
But YES Inc., Mango Comics or its people never arrogated unto themselves the title savior of the local comics industry. Never did they even lay claim to reviving it single-handedly.
Suffice it to say that the company is committed to upholding the dignity of creators by giving them fair compensation and respecting their intellectual property rights. YES Inc. has been consistently doing this since its foray into comics publication several years ago. We walk our talk, so to speak.
We at YES Inc. welcome you, Randy, in your endeavors regarding local comics. The industry needs all the help it can get.

Randy, sa lahat ng nasabi at naipost sa PKMB at sa ibang lugar, di ko nahagilap ang kahit anong banggit kung mare-retain ng creators ng stories yung rights sa characters at art nila.

ayos na dapat siya nalang yung nanggugulo. sana "districtprosecutor" nalang pangalan nya kesa "fbiprofiler" hahaha.
